How do you change the rotors on a Ford F250?

how do you change the front rotors on a Ford F250

I have removed the brakes, caliper, and locking hub cap. Is there any thing else that needs to be removed or is the rotor just supose to slide off at this point, in which case it does not.How do you change the rotors on a Ford F250?
This sounds like it's a four wheel drive. My Blazer works this way, so yours may be the same. If so, you have to remove the hubs. The rotor is held in place with the wheel studs. They are pressed into the rotor. But there is more to it than this. There is an inner and outer bearing as well as retainers for the outer bearing. There is a specific Way in which to re install everything. Unless you are set up to do everything, you shouldn't attempt it. Go get a manual for your truck and have a look to see if it's something you want to tackle. How do you change the rotors on a Ford F250?
did u remove da brake lines and also u might have to pop it out if its rusted it will be harder to take off and also there is a center bolt on the hub take a look at that and see if UN screwed it or not

How to I change the rotors on a 94 Civic CX?

Is there a way not to remove the caliper but to swing it out of the way? If not. I see two bolts holding the caliper and brake shoe assembly in place are those the ones I need to remove the caliper. I know how to get the rotor off after that

. ThanksHow to I change the rotors on a 94 Civic CX?
To remove the rotor you must remove the caliper. Or at least the bracket holding the caliper.

You can not simply swing the caliper out of the way. You can only do this if you are slapping new pads on, and it's not recommended.

Always get rotors turned when doing a brake job to ensure proper pad to surface contact. How to I change the rotors on a 94 Civic CX?

I am in the middle of my brake and rotor replacement project and I am stuck - literally! I got the calipers off and I know that you turn those bolts to the right (despite the righty tighty lefty loosy rule). When I take the bolts out to remove the rotors, do I turn the bolt to the right or left? My brakes were GONE so the bolts are pretty much burnt into place with brake dust and I want to be sure I'm turning them the right way. It took me 20 minutes and a whole lot of elbow grease just to get my calipers off! I don't want to strip my bolts and end up having to drill them out.

-Oh, and yeah I am a girl who LOVES cars. I'm trying to do this myself. I want to do this without having to call my dad for help. I have something to prove. I want to go to the Nascar Technical Institute and work on race cars, maybe even drive one one day. I know what I'm doing, It's just been 7 years and 2 kids since I've done this. I do have 2 years of auto mechanic training. Sorry if this is a stupid question. My book for my car isn't here and my brakes went out so I can't go get it. I know what I'm doing, I just need a little reminder on HOW, PLEASE?!?How do I change rotors on my 2000 mustang?
Im guessing you removed the caliper and left the bracket in place? And now your trying to get the bracket off? Most likely you wont be able to do it with just a 1/2 in drive, your going to need a bar to put on the end to get more leverage(breaker bar) I had to use it on my a couple months ago. I think the drivers side you push the bar down(towards the ground) and passenger your push up(towards the top). How do I change rotors on my 2000 mustang?
Take the nuts off the wheels. Remove the tires. ratchet and socket and remove bolt from back of caliper on both sides slide up and off. The brake pads slide right out on both sides. and then pull rotor straight towards you and off. Reverse process to put back on.How do I change rotors on my 2000 mustang?
Mike is right, 1/2 will work just use what is called a cheater bar! It's 2' pipe about 30-40%26quot; long slip over the ratchet/breakerbar, and pry away. It will make the job so easy, it's leverage! How do I change rotors on my 2000 mustang?
Every rotor I have ever replaced was just slipped on over the lugs, and didn't require removing any bolts (after you take off the calipers of course).

If yours are bolted on, then you might want to get some rust buster and spray it on the bolts. Let it soak in really good, and then try popping them loose again.

Good luck - and I think it's awesome that you are a girl who wants to work on cars!!

How do I change out Rear drum brake on a 2000 Dodge Neon to make them disk brakes like the front.?

I have a 2000 Dodge Neon 2.0L I bought front/rear drilled and slotted rotors for. I am trying to change out the rear Drum brakes and replace it with an assembly to house calipers so I may use my matching Rotos on the back. I just got new rims and it looks very bad against the new rim.How do I change out Rear drum brake on a 2000 Dodge Neon to make them disk brakes like the front.?
this would be an expensive and time consuming conversion.

the brake lines, maybe master cylinder, and rear brake mounts would have to be changed, go to a junk yard and get all the parts off of a vehicle

How hard is it to change brakes on a 1998 chevy lumina?

My brakes wore out on my 1998 chevrolet lumina and i will probably need rotors and pads...i would like to know how much im looking at for a shop to do it and if possible could i do it myselfHow hard is it to change brakes on a 1998 chevy lumina?
Well its a GM product so it must be bad.... Kidding but it will help to have some of the right tools. If you don't have any of the tools I suggest Autozone and Advanced rent most of this stuff out pretty cheep. Obviously the Caliper needs to be removed from the mounting bracket first and remove the old pads from the retaining clips. You will need a Caliper compressor to push the piston back into the bores for the front disc breaks. Once you have done that you can put brake grease on the back of the pads making sure you get nothing on the friction surface and load them back into the caliper. Clean and grease the guide pins as well so the caliper can move well. Then just bolt it back on and your done with the front.

The Rear is a bit harder. You will need to purchase a break hardware kit with all the springs and a shoe hold down spring tool. The easiest way I have found to remove the springs would be to use a wire coat hanger to just unhook everything. The E Break clip is always a hassle but they sell tools to make it easy but a regular flathead screw driver will work fine to get it off. A pair of pliers to put the knew one on will work fine. Sometimes the hole which the E break rivet goes through needs to be drilled out to fit. Grease the backing plate on the 6 raised bumps where the shoes slide against. Grease and retract the self adjustor and then put everything back the way you found it and your done. It isn't as hard as I probably made it seem but it might be time consuming if its your first time. Make sure before you put the car in gear to pump the breaks about 10 times to be safe otherwise you won't be able to stop. Good luck How hard is it to change brakes on a 1998 chevy lumina?
Not hard if you have some basic tools and a little patience. Check out the %26quot;repair guides%26quot; on autozone.com. You will pay a lot more to have a shop do it, probably around $300 with rotors.
