Approximately how many miles does a average brake change occur. How about for rotors?

My brakes and rotors have never been changed before. it is a 1996 car and past 150,000 miles.

It is not making any noises yet and it does stop pretty good. But I was thinking, to be safe I should change them since its old. what do you think?Approximately how many miles does a average brake change occur. How about for rotors?
There is no average.Think about this-your brakes only wear when you foot is on the brake pedal (a fact). If you do a lot of stop %26amp; go (I've seen mail carriers wear out new brakes in 6,000 miles) your brakes won't last real long.If all you did was highway driving %26amp; never used your brakes-you could drive 1,000,000 miles %26amp; they'd look brand new (again if never had to use them).Obvisouly you have to stop sometimes to pee %26amp; get more gas-but if you didn't have to stop-THEY'D BE BRAND NEW%26gt;Approximately how many miles does a average brake change occur. How about for rotors?
That's not possible.Approximately how many miles does a average brake change occur. How about for rotors?
there is no exact science to say like 30K miles till a brake change is needed, you keep driving untill it starts squeeking if it squeeks alot its time for a change. If your rotors look uneven they need a change, new rotors dont show any ware on the outside lip but weavaly work rotors will have uneven wear and a charechreristic lip where the pad dosent touch the rotor. if you run your index finger over a disk and it feels uneven first check wether you can have them %26quot;cut%26quot; grinded down at a auto supy store or replace them for best stopping power. if you need new ones get slotted rotors i have them and it has increased my stopping power!, dont get cross drilled as they weaken the disks unlike the sloted style used in aston martins.

Break changes are easy and safe to do at home all you need is a few sockets sizes depend on your car, a carjack, C-clamp, brake parts cleaner, and th enew pads. save yourself the money there is no way to mess up as long as you put everything together the way it was before you took it apart.Approximately how many miles does a average brake change occur. How about for rotors?
That is hard to believe, most vehicle need new brakes at the very least every two years depending on how much they are used. Most Brake pads have a metal tab when the pad wears to thin it will start crapping the rotor. It will make a medal to medal sound.like nails on a chalk board. If there are grooves or ridges and the rotor is not smooth, you will need to replace the brake pads and the rotors. You should also look at your brake fluid level.Regardless
